Spiral Dye stamp.

This is a bit different for me,  for one it's yellow and orange... two colours I rarely use.  and secondly it's not really my style.  I had no intention of buying this stamp, it did nothing for me in the catalogue, but then I watched a video by Sarah Douglas (CEO of Stampin' Up! )  Well, I ended up buying it on the strength of her video. It's a funny stamp to use.  You ink up the stamp and stamp it , then you turn the card 180 degrees, place it back in the exact same position and stamp again  in a different colour.

I had quite a few goes with this stamp experimenting with different colour combinations.
For the first card I used Summer sun and Peekaboo ink pads.
For the second card the combo I chose was Almost Amethyst and Certainly Celery.

For my third card I used Fresh Freesia  and Soft Sky ink pads.

I experimented with darker colours too but I wasn't to happy with the results. Too dark and sombre  for a card to brighten somebody's day in my opinion. I think the lighter colours look best.

Up Up and Away

Todays post is a DL card using the long since retired stamp set called Up Up and Away. I think I have only ever used this set once. So it is about time it got another airing. To create the clouds I used a blending brush and an acetate sheet which I have cut different size and shape clouds around all the edges to use as a stencil/Mask.

High Tide

I have been putting off buying this set called "High Tide" because it's a polymer set and I very rarely get good results with this type of stamp set. But I have seen so many lovely cards made with this set that I relented when it went on the retired list. The fact it was discounted was a bonus too.
These two cards are my first attempts with this set and I am really pleased with the way they have  turned out, especially for my first attempts. Of course this could be a fluke and I may never get such good results ever again. Now You may think I am jesting but I kid you not I have several stamp sets where I have managed to get great results first time but never again.
To create the clouds, I cut cloud shapes in different shapes and sizes around the sides of a sheet of acetate to create a mask.  When I want to create clouds I select a section of the acetate sheet and lay it across  my card stock. Using a blending brush and a tiny amount of ink, I apply the ink to the mask and then lightly brush the ink over the edge of the mask to create the blue of the  sky, leaving the masked off area white and cloud shaped

Masculine card

I am quit pleased with the way this one turned out. I used blending brushes and three different inks to create a multi-coloured sky.  I stamped the boats and I placed post it notes across the top of the two thirds  to create  the horizon and a blended several blue inks to create the water. taking care not to put too much ink over the boats. I could have masked off the boats but I was short on time and really couldn't be bothered with the hassle of cutting out masks. I could have brushed over the boats with a little water and blot off the ink, but I didn't. A white Posca paint  pen was  used to bring the sails back to a white-ish colour and to add highlights in the water.

Lasting Elegance die cut card.

I didn't realize I had bought this die until I found it in my stash of dies last week, I am not a great fan of predominantly die cut cards, So I was surprised to discover this die in my collection.  This morning I decided try it out.

I used  Sweet Sugarplum and white card stock along with the Lasting Elegance die and a sentiment from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set to create this card.

Coloured embossing

This card was made quite a while ago  but I forgot to post it. I used a crafters 3D companion embossing folder for the background.  I applied pink ink to the inside of the embossing folder with a brayer, popped the card in and ran it through the bigshot.
Then it was just a case of adding the cake topper and a sentiment.

Fairy card

Oh, how could I forget to include this one in my previous post. I love the way those bleach splatters seem to glow. Fireflies maybe?

Pampered Pets, the forgotten card.

It seems I forgot to post this Pampered Pets card last week when I posted the last batch.
I made the collar using one of the new sliders from S.U.  and threaded through a strip of  black card. I added a few tiny gem stones along the collar.  Well,  it is a Pampered  Pet after all.

Seasonal chums

This card was made for the latest member of the family for his first Christmas.
It's a peekaboo card and it was inspired by a Dawn Griffiths Tutorial I watched on Youtube. I did change a couple of things to put put my own twist on this card.
I used Stampin' Up s Seasonal chums tag set and dies to create this card.
I don't like putting panel on the inside of cards unless they are large cards, but Hubby messed up the inside of this card by writing Happy Birthday in it instead of Happy Christmas. So I had to put a panel over his mistake to cover it as I didn't have time to remake it.
