My Birthday Pressies

Tuesday was my birthday and what a lovely day it was.
The men of the house were at work leaving just Stan the dog and myself at home.

I spent most of the day in my craftroom creating a diamond wedding anniversary card for a friend.( I can't post photos yet
Amazingly,  I didn't have any feelings of guilt for not doing the housework, it was Great!  it's a shame  birthdays don't last a week  really,  then I could get away without doing housework all week. hee hee.
I had lots of phone calls in the morning and later in the day a couple of friends called in to wish me a happy birthday,  some  bearing  gifts, Stampin' up  goodies of course, hee hee.
Everyone was so generous. Thank you all for my pressies and for making my birthday a HAPPY one.
Hubby took me out for an Italian meal,  we arrived to find the restuarant was being refurbished so the italian was off.  After a great debate we ended up eating in a nearby hotel, not the meal I was looking forward to,  but a good 2nd best. Thanks Baby.

As I was playing around last year with the oval shapes making pumpkin baskets, I thought what a fabulous Cinderella carriage they would make. Then I forgot about it, until last week so this weekend I thought I would have a go.

I am not too sure about the Barbie pink glitter and I had no idea how I was going to make the suspension until I found some a pair opposite flourish stamps stashed away in draw un-used. I am not entirely sure these work but they were the most suitable in my vast collection of stamps.

So I stamped them onto my back ground paper (which is one of stampin' ups designer papers) and embossed them in gold embossing powder.

The carriage was made using three extra large ovals using the largest oval punch from Stampin' up and one of the small oval using S.U s smallest oval punch.

I cover each oval in glue and smoothered them in pink glitter and allowed to dry. Then using foam tape I stuck each oval in position.

I punched a small square in dark red card and kept the positive and another square in gold card and kept the negative. I glued the red square into the hole in the gold card and trimmed the gold card back until I had a small gold frame around the red square and applied a small blob of glue to the door and placed the window in position. I added a small gold brad for the handle. Stamped and embossed a tiny crown and this made the decoration for the top of the carriage.

For the wheels I punched a medium size hole in some gold card and then went back and punched a larger hole over the top of the smaller hole. This gave me the rims of my wheels. For the spokes I drew lines with an embossing pen and heat embossed them in gold.

I added a few sparklies here and there, some punched foliage daubed the edges and mounted onto gold mirricard and then my pink base card. For a closer look click on picture then use the magnifier.

If I am totally honest I am not really that pleased with this, but I bet there is a little girl somewhere that would love this.
