Victorian Card re created.

It's been quite a while since I've posted anything here, there are several reasons for this. One being I am working twice as many hours than normal,  so I don't have as much time for crafting  and when I do have a little time I am too shattered
However during the holidays I was doing something crafty and a little different, which I will share in a later post.
I also spent some time sorting through the boxes and boxes of cards I have made over the last 20 + years.
Amongst my cards,  I found a couple of Victorian cards that were sent to me some years ago...But  not a hundred years ago, I am not quite that old.

As I was looking at these cards with their inserts held in with twine, it occurred to me that these inserts have been held in place for over 100 years.

Then I looked at some of my older cards the inserts had been stuck in with double sided tape, which over the years had dried out and lost it's stickiness or it had turned brown or both.
So I made  the Easter card above and used bakers twine to hold in the insert.
As I was adding the twine and insert, I realized this would be  a great way of making the card recycleable. The recipient could just slide in a new insert and send it to the next recipient.
Another reason for adding an insert in this way would be for special cards, where you know the person will want to keep the card for many years.

The last few photo's are of the inside of the Victorian card. The words in this card made me smile and I guess that is the whole purpose of a card.

All that's left for me to say is.....
Have Right Glad Day.
