Sharon's Wedding Invitation.

The postman delivered this  last week.

My friend Sharon is getting married in the summer and had made her own wedding invitations.
Glad to say,.... here is mine.

Sharon has used my  all time favourite floral stamp set.

I love the Stippled Blossom  set and I was very surprised it didn't stay in the catalogue longer.
To my mind it should be a permanent fixture in the catalogue, like Lovely as a tree. lol.

Inside Sharon has made pockets and  very pretty little labels with all the relevant information on.
I am guessing Sharon has used the S.U. scallope top label punch to  create these lovely labels.

I just wish she  had printed the details a little larger though as I had  trouble trying to read the small print and had to get a magnifying glass out to read the information. (This aging business is not much fun.)
Sharon if you read this, Thank you for inviting me and  I will be delighted to attend your wedding.
 I will be sending back the RSVP as soon as I have worked out which label is the RSVP.  LOL

Wedding Invitation

These  classy little wedding invitations are the work of my step son  Tom and his fiance Trinity.
Between them, they made a whole bunch of these for their up and coming wedding.

 Tom says he thinks Trin got the idea  from a post on Pinterest.

They have made a brilliant job of these.
I was very impressed with their work and the style of these invites.

I love the idea of alternating the the craft card with the white card. 
The string and  the rustic  Mr & Mrs charm  sets these off a treat.

Number One Son Is Getting Married....

Number one son and his partner of ten years told me a couple days ago that they are planning to get married this year.

So I had to have a play to see what sort of invitations I could come up with. So the next couple of posts are wedding related.

I chose stampin' Up's "concorde crush" card for this one as I know Clare loves purple.

I cut a strip a of card and embossed it using one of the larger 7 x 5 embosssing folders. I then scored about 1/2" in at the sides and along the bottom. (This is to create the flaps for the sticky tape.)

I snipped off the bottom corners at an angle to create a mitred corner on the inside when the edges have been folded under.

I applied extra strong double sided tape to the flaps and the white grosgrain was added by sticking each end to the side flaps then covering the ends with a little more tape .

I centred the pocket over the lower half of a my base card ( a 6" x 6" piece of card again in concorde crush) and pressed down firmly.

For the centre panel, I cut another square of concorde crush slightly smaller than the pocket and printed my text onto thin white card stock, I trimmed it to size and hot foiled the text using toner foil and my laminator.

I then mounted the text onto the purple panel and slid it into it's pocket.

This is a lot simpler than I make it sound.

My pain killers are starting to make me feel drowsy now, so I had better go to bed or I will wake up with the impression of this keyboard on my face in the morning. Nite.

Diamante & Pearl Wedding Invitation

I used flat cream card for the base and embossed a piece of cream pearl for the lower half of the card. Then stamped the words with versamark ink and embossed using Stampin' up's gold embossing powder. Added chocolate ribbon and a fancy button to finish. I have seen some gorgeous pearl and diamante buttons that would finish this off better, but haven't got any in my craft stash......... yet.

After a very long time searching the net, I eventually found a company in the UK that sells these beautiful buttons, my order arrived this morning .

So after yet another trip to the doctors and even more meds prescribed to make me rattle, I came home and changed the old button for a new one.

I think it improves the card no end.

These are flat back buttons so there are no shanks to cut off and they are just so beautiful.

They are even more sparkly in reality.

I love them!!!

Simple Wedding Invitation and rsvp

My step daughter Holly
announced
this weekend she is getting
married in July to her long term partner Stuart.
After the congratulations bit,I volunteered to make the
invitations.
This is a simple wedding invitation
using Stampin' Up s baroque motif stamp and silver embossing powder.
I am just waiting for approval before I go into production on these.
