Celebrate sunflowers stamp set

This is cheerful  little  6 x 4 inch card was inspired by a  Sarah Hardy tutorial. I loved Sarah's card  so much I just had to C.A.S.E  it.  It's not an exact copy of Sarah's, partly because I cased it 3 weeks after viewing her video. So I made what I thought I remembered from her video.
One thing I did change deliberately is the base card. I chose to use a white one instead of navy.    99 percent of my cards start with a white base card because the white card I use  is heavier than the coloured card  I buy from S.U. and I do like a robust card. It also means I don't have to put a white insert in  which saved me time and card.  I also missed out a layer of card a under the DSP.
The  corner fold is deeper on my card,  because I used the diagonal plate on my score board  instead of using Sarah's measurements.

Because I changed the colour of the base card I had to reverse the colours on the inside.

Having completed the 6 x 4 card I wanted to know if it would work if it was sized up to  7 x 5 inches and  using the same DSP.
The white borders had to be a little broader and I had to add a layer of Navy card to take up some of the white border as the DSP  measures only 6 x6 inches.
I coloured the sun flowers with Copic markers which results in the ink bleeds through the card.  Not a nice look... That  meant I had to  stick a second layer of card on the back of the sun flower and leaves before assembling the card parts.

Anniversary Card.

An Anniversary card this time. I've used another cute  lili of the valley image. (called winter walk)
This is a digital image so it can be re sized and best of all,  I don't have to leave the house to buy them. They are delivered to your email address within minutes of paying for them.
This image does not include the trees. It is just the couple with a couple of lines for the ground. I drew in the trees for some extra interest. I suppose if you are really good at drawing you could draw in a cottage, a street,  a meadow,  some mountains or even the sea in the background.

My First Card

I've was having a clear out in my craft room a couple of weeks ago and came across this card I made about 20 years ago. It was made for a girl who was leaving but then she never left, so it remained in my possession.
This card was hand drawn and painted using water colours.
When I started card making 20 years ago, card making products were limited and hard to find in the UK.
I remember my  card making stash consisted of a tin of water colour paints, a bunch of  peel offs,  a couple of punches, a paper trimmer, a knife and cutting mat,  a dozen stamps and various types  ink pads all of which fitted into a very small drawer unit.
Even card was limited,  to get card in nice colours I had to buy the huge sheets of card and cut them down to A4....not easy with small paper trimmer.

My knowledge of inks and colouring mediums was very limited so I often had disasters when trying to paint something, I had stamped with... let's say the "wrong"  ink.

My knowledge and skills,  especially in stamping have come a long way,  thanks to Stampin'up!.   Prior to signing up with SU, I was rubbish at stamping and  those few stamps I owned previously were relegated to a drawer and never saw daylight again let alone ink.

These days the range of card making products available is vast and totally mind blowing.
