By the Bay

I have always had a few issues colouring this stamp from the stamp set By The Bay.
If I remember rightly it was a Sale a bration set last year. I don't know why I have difficulty colouring this image, but I am never happy with the result so I thought I'd try something different.

So I stamped the image on to Balmy Blue card stock using black ink and then I stamped over it a second time using Versamark ink and heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder. Then I painted over some areas with bleach .I quite liked the effect  but didn't think it would  make a very cheery card. So I  decided to put some colour back  with Copic Markers.

By accident,  due to poor lighting,  I  tried this technique on the Seaside Spray colour card. The bleach reacted differently with this colour card, and I didn't like the results. The bleach turned the card to a warm yellowy blue,  and  against the cool blue and it looked rather strange so it  ended up in the bin.
The last photo on this post is just to show how gorgeous the new Script embossing folder  from Stampin' Up. I have bought script embossing folders before and found the script to be too large and  heavy. But this script is so small and fine it's beautiful. I think this folder is going to get a lot of use in my craft room.
