Handmade Gift Bag

A sewing project for you today.  A lined drawstring  gift bag.  I was watching one of the shopping channels over the weekend, they were advertising  Christmas gift bags a with draw string top.  I thought they were a great idea for those awkward shaped presents that are impossible to wrap neatly or those squishy gifts that the wrapping paper rips every time you pick it up. So I decided to make one for young Felix's  first birthday present. (which just so happened to be  one of those squishy presents)

An added bonus to this type of gift bag is it can be re used either as an every day storage bag for kiddies toys or  re used as a gift bag.

I had some Christmas fabric given to me a while back, it's not the nicest Christmas fabric I've  ever seen and I was wondering what to make with it. This might be the perfect use for it.

For the non sewer, If you fancy having a go at these bags they are much easier to make than you may think and should take less than an hour to make one or maybe two. There are loads of videos on youtube showing you how to make them. Some of the videos are long winded and make you wish you hadn't bothered, but there are some good videos that keep the instructions simple.
