Easter Card,

I chose this lime green DSP to make this card using the new punch from S.U.
The bright, fresh green makes me think of Spring and the new leaves appearing on  trees and shrubs. A non religious card for Easter or Spring Holidays.

George the giraffe tutorial

As promised here is a list of the punches I used to create George the giraffe ( affectionately named by my friend Fran)
along with basic assembly instructions. Have to keep this short, I am supposed to be doing dinner.
Hence the fact I didn't use proper colours of card just scraps laying around.

PUNCHES USED
Stampin up's Large oval punch.
1 3/4" circle punch (head)
1" circle punch (mouth)
3/4" circle  (inside of mouth) and spots
1/4" circle punch  ( eyes, spots and tops of horns)
Stampin up s 5 point flower punch (ears)

hand cut scraps for horns and neck.

You'll need

four black 1/4" circles (for eyes and nostrils)
one  sandy coloured  1  3/4" circle for head
one  large  sandy coloured oval
one 1" inch circle for mouth
one pink 3/4 " circle for inside of mouth
one sandy coloured flower  (you'll only use two of it's petals.)
and a mix of 3/4" and  1/4 " spots for his neck markings. ( as many as you want to put on him.

Hand cut a tapered neck and a pair of thinnish horns.

Now you're ready to  set about making him.

Looks a bit flat here doesn't he.......

So Before you  start sticking him together,
I recommend you  sponge all the edges of the sandy coloured circle, petals, horns neck and ears with a little  ink the same or similar colour,
 just a tad darker.

You can also sponge the edges of the brown circles if you wish with a darker ink in the same colour but it's not really necessary.
Once you have inked all the edges you can start assembling him as shown in the photos.

Doesn't he look better for a little inking round his edges.
Here you can see I have scribbled on his nostrils due to lack of time.

On my original George,  I gave him eyelashes , white highlights in his eyes and coated his eyes with a few drops of Crystal effects.

He is now ready to be  added to your card.
For my background I cut some scalloped shapes in green, Inked the edges in green and randomly Stuck them at the base of my card and had George looking over the top of them.

For the sky I used a scalloped shape as a mask and inked over the edged with a sponge to create the childlike clouds.

I hope you will let me know how you get on if you decided to CASE this one.

And I here is my original card made  about four years ago....... I couldn't bare  to part with him.

I forgot to say he looks great done in grey without the horns,.....  kinda monsterish.  I have done a post on him in grey  somewhere on here... if you have  time take a look.

Sharon's Santa Suit card

This Santa's belly card was made and  sent to me by Sharon a Stampin' up demo in the Berkshire area.
Sharon has used  an assortment of dies and punches to create this card.

I love how she has used the square scallop punch and the stamp punch to create the buckle and a  label die to create the beard.

I am ashamed to say I didn't send Sharon a card this year, for two reasons  one being I only made a few cards  and two being  I couldn't find her address. I hope she will forgive me.

Sharon's Christmas card and gift

This card was sent to me by my lovely friend and guest artist Sharon.
Here Sharon has used the lovely as a tree stamp set to create this gorgeous card.   I love the circle accent  she has created by stamping a second image, punching it out, inking the edges and sticking it over the first image she stamped using sticky foam pads and carefully matching up the designs.

A very effective card yet very easy to do.
Thank you Sharon I will be having a go at this one in the near future.

The second gift I received from Sharon was this cute sweetie holder.  Here Sharon has topped off the bag with a cute punch art Santa.
I have to say  when this arrived I had to text Sharon and ask where she got the narrow bags from.....I was very surprised when she text back and said they're in the stampin up catalogue.
I hadn't noticed them in there, so guess what's going on my next order.
Sharon sent me a third item but  when I photographed it I hadn't noticed a piece of sticky tape that had stuck to the bottom and was poking out a little making it look a bit odd so I will re photograph that and post later.

As I was playing around last year with the oval shapes making pumpkin baskets, I thought what a fabulous Cinderella carriage they would make. Then I forgot about it, until last week so this weekend I thought I would have a go.

I am not too sure about the Barbie pink glitter and I had no idea how I was going to make the suspension until I found some a pair opposite flourish stamps stashed away in draw un-used. I am not entirely sure these work but they were the most suitable in my vast collection of stamps.

So I stamped them onto my back ground paper (which is one of stampin' ups designer papers) and embossed them in gold embossing powder.

The carriage was made using three extra large ovals using the largest oval punch from Stampin' up and one of the small oval using S.U s smallest oval punch.

I cover each oval in glue and smoothered them in pink glitter and allowed to dry. Then using foam tape I stuck each oval in position.

I punched a small square in dark red card and kept the positive and another square in gold card and kept the negative. I glued the red square into the hole in the gold card and trimmed the gold card back until I had a small gold frame around the red square and applied a small blob of glue to the door and placed the window in position. I added a small gold brad for the handle. Stamped and embossed a tiny crown and this made the decoration for the top of the carriage.

For the wheels I punched a medium size hole in some gold card and then went back and punched a larger hole over the top of the smaller hole. This gave me the rims of my wheels. For the spokes I drew lines with an embossing pen and heat embossed them in gold.

I added a few sparklies here and there, some punched foliage daubed the edges and mounted onto gold mirricard and then my pink base card. For a closer look click on picture then use the magnifier.

If I am totally honest I am not really that pleased with this, but I bet there is a little girl somewhere that would love this.

All at Sea

Here's one for a little man.
I cut a white circle and a red scalloped circle
Then cut four strips of bashful blue card and snipped away at one edge to create the waves then daubed the waves with bashful blue ink.
The boat is just a circle cut in half and three triangles of different sizes.
The clouds were daubed on using a scallop circle as a mask.
Once all the pieces were assembled I mount the scene onto a square of stampin' up designer paper added a strip of red then mounted the whole thing onto my real red base card.

Nick's Prehistoric Birthday Card

This one is for Nick who has reached the grand age of 50 today.
Happy Birthday Matey.
It's not all bad being 50, so don't frett too much. You have excellent company.
Besides, the optician can sort out your failing eye sight, the Dr can sort out a hip replacement and the dentist is on hand with some dentures when needed.
On the plus side Nick, You haven't quiet reached your second childhood.
Have a GREAT DAY!

For this card I used the small oval punch for the muzzle, the five petal flower punch for the ears, the 1 3/8" circle punch.
the word window punch for the eye lids and the small circle punch for the eyes.
I daubed each piece with basic grey ink before sticking the pieces together and added white spots with a white souffle pen.
I drew in the mouth with the fine end of a stampin' up marker.
The background was created with sponge daubers. I used old olive for the trees and grass, bashful blue for the sky and for the water I used my sponge daubers with marina mist, pacific point and night of navy ink pads, then dotted on some sparkles with the white souffle pen .
It is possible to create a large dinosaur or Loch ness monster)
using the larger oval and circle punches as I have done here. ( I am starting to think of this more as Nessie than a dinosaur )
The only piece I had to cut was the neck, which shouldn't be too much of a challenge for anyone.

Mr Piggy

This gorgeous fat piggy was made using four circle punches and the five petal flower punch (all from SU)
I daubed the edges with creamy caramel ink using a sponge dauber.

The fence was created using the train tracks wheel stamp and white craft ink (both available from SU) I filled in the little gaps in the fence with a white gel pen. Stamped my foliage, daubed and drew in the grass and the daisies.

Can't quite think of an occassion one would use this card for apart get well soon. Perhaps it should read
" I hope you're cured soon."

So If anyone has any other suggestions , please tell, I would be delighted to read them.

Handsome Prince or just a frog?

Well, this is the card that has taken up most of my day.

Playing around with card, ink, daubers, crystal effects, stamps, punches and scissors is my kind of heaven.

Anyway The Frog and the lily pads are mainly made up of ovals, all daubed with old olive ink. I used the five point flower punch for the lily daubed with pretty in pink ink.

The reeds are old olive card daubed with olive and chocolate chip ink and cut with scissors.

The sky I daubed using bashful blue ink and a scallop circle as a mask for my clouds.

I am quite pleased with the way this card has turned out.........I may not think that way after my opticians appointment. tomorrow. If she says I need stronger glasses, I will be worried about the standard of all my work. lol.

Ok , It's spot the difference time.
Something bugged me about the frog on the above card. After sometime pondering, I realized what it was.
Which do you prefer?????

Giraffe Card

I have finally decided ,my New favourite colours are Stampin' up;s Cherry cobbler, Pacific point and Marina mist. Ihave really enjoyed having a play with all my new goodies. Today I thought I would have a go at punch art. Not something I have ever seriously tried before, but hey!!! I have new punches so why not give it a go. Here are some of the things I produced.Fran will think this is the giraffe I half heartedly made months ago and she named George. Sorry Fran, this is his baby brother. lol. He is smaller than George. He is made from an assortment of oval and circle punches.

I used bashfull blue ink and a dauber plus a scallop circle to do the sky.

The tree tops are old olive card punched out using the scalloped circle and oval punches.

Click on photo for larger image and use the magnifier.

I have Yet to put the greeting on this card and I think it has to say......... Hi

Bunny card

I used a range of stampin'up punches to make this cute bunny. Close to cocoa , pretty in in pink and white card stock for the bunny and stampin' up's designer paper for the background. Again the greeting was printed off and hot foiled. I used crystal glaze for the eyes.
