DSP Candles

I can't take the credit for the design of this card. I CASE'd it from Karen Johnson's blog.

I think Karen used a stamp for the sentiment on her card. I didn't have a sentiment stamp suitable for this design so I created this  very similar greeting on the PC, printed off and die cut it.

The candles are just strips of Stampin' Up's DSP and the flames are the wings from the bird and branch punch.

This card should arrive tomorrow, I do hope he likes it.

Bird house New Home card

Just a quick post today as I have a lot on today.
Firstly I have to apologize for the photography on this card. It was extremely difficult to get a photo of this card in it's true colours. The real thing actually looks much cleaner and brighter .... The photo has a bit of a yellowish hue and the inked edges are more prominent in the photo than in reality, which makes it look grubby to me.

This bird house card was inspired by the bird house Easter egg box I made some time back.
Cutting out the bird house was fun trying to get both sides  the same angle.

Here's a list of the tools and materials used for this project
Stampin' up!s punches,
Boho the flower punch,
Word window punch,
Label punch
1" circle punch
1 1/4" circle punch
Bird punch,
scallop border punch.

Stampin' up inks.
Soft suede
Crumb cake.
Early Espresso.
Pretty in pink
Old olive.
The inks were used to daub the edges of the card

Stamp used,
The birds wing was stamped using a stamp from the tiny tags set and Early Espresso ink.
The body of the house was stamped using the Hardwood  background stamp and crumb cake ink.
The  greeting was  printed  off from my PC  and punched out with the word window punch.

One black shiny gemstone for the eye.
One crystal for the centre of the flower.
Foam pads to raise the birdhouse and sentiment.
Stampin' up s DSP paper and cardstock.

The tiny pink heart is the waste from a Martha Stewart s border punch.

Bird House Gift Box mini egg size

The S.U milk carton die converted into  the  perfect little bird house for those revolting, smaller eggs that seem to be in the shops all  year round.

Fortunately at this time of year other confectionery  companies bring out their versions of mini egg, which a generally much nicer and they too fit perfectly into  this little bird house gift box.

 Materials & Tools:

Milk carton die  S.U plus die cutting machine
Bird punch S.U
Boho Flower Punch
circle punches... one very slightly smaller than the other.
card stock
Small shiny black gemstone
Ribbon

To help keep the egg in position I made a little stand with a hole in the centre.

Home is where the heart is.

I really enjoy making these tunnel cards but sometime I can't decide just what to put in them. This time I wanted to do something using Stampin' Up products .

I chose the  Banner Blast stamp set and
coordinating punch  from this years
sale a bration catalogue, the hardwood background stamp from the spring and summer supplement catalogue.
A various colours of ink, the small  single heart punch, the tiny  heart from the owl punch and a  small alphabet stamp set.  (I purchased many years ago from somewhere I can't remember.)
Just to make the outside of this new home card for my son and his family who moved house last weekend.

For the inside of the card I used the owl punch and the leafy branch pieces are from the bird punch both from Stampin' up.

To make the Owl wings,  I punched one scallop circle embossed it using the square lattice embossing folder. Then I cut it into four quarters  and glued two quarters to the back of each owl.

The owls were a little bit too wobbly on the branch and needed a little more support.
To stabilize the owls a little better, I punched a further  two owls bodies and glued them to the back of the owls,  after  they had  been stuck to the branch, so the big branches are sandwiched between the the two layers of the owls  bodies.

The bigger branches were cut free hand  with scissors. I then glued  little bits of foliage to the back branches.

I slotted the branches into the folds at the sides of the card making sure they were not glued into the same fold as I want to create more depth by having one further back than the other. Then I glued them into position.

The background started off as a 5"x7"piece of daffodil delight yellow card stock which I sponged over the top with  red riding hood and calypso coral ink from SU and I left the bottom  section of the card un-inked.

Sister Card

I am not sure I should be posting this now as it's my sisters birthday card. Her birthday was last week birthday and I won't see her until  middle of next week.

She says she never goes on my blog, so I guess I am safe in posting this.

I used the Amazing Family stamp set from Stampin' Up!  (see  below)   along with white craft ink ( also from S.U) to stamp the  greeting and the decorative edge to the black base card.

I used S.U's  designer series paper for the pink spotted background.
Pretty in pink ribbon.

The flowers were punched using the  Boho three flower punch, which I layered up and added just a touch of pink ink to the edges.
I bought this punch some years ago thinking I wouldn't use it that much, But this punch is a little gem and use  more than I ever thought it would be.

The leaves were punched using the three in one bird punch.
The bird punch was an impulse buy because it was cute and new.
I rarely use  the bird on this punch  but the leafy branch I use a lot.

Hope Mandy likes this one.
Happy Birthday Sis.

A little bird told us

I used Stampin up wheel very vogue with perfect plum ink on the perfect plum card stock.
The green card is old olive I love the three in one bird punch. I daubed the edges with old olive ink and used the vintage vogue stamp set to stamp the corner flowers and birds wing. I printed the greeting on old olive card stock using the dark purple ink.
Then punched out the greeting using the word window punch from stampin up.
I used the boho floral punch for the flower and added a green sparkle.

Bird card

I love the old olive and perfect plum
combination so tried same card again,
just swapping round the colours .

Another bird card

I used versamark ink and the very vogue wheel for the background this time , again I used the three in one bird punch from stampin up. The vine stamp is from the Vintage vogue set of stamps from stampin up.
Just playing with colours here .
I wish I had got that vine stamp a little more in the bottom corner.
Next time I think I will use my stamp-a-ma-jig thingy. Now I know how to use it, it's brilliant I love it to pieces. I can stamp things straight and in the correct place now. .........just have to remember to use it. lol.
