Tom's Garage Card

This card was a bit of a challenge to make.  I hate measuring and working out sizes  like  how deep should the recess be, how wide did I want the side panels and what size envelope will it fit in.  so the base of this card took a couple of attempts .

I wanted this as large as I could possibly get  from an A4 Sheet of card.
If I had made it any smaller my die cut tools would have looked ridiculously over sized
I found some brads with tools on, which were perfect for the job. So  I mixed them in with the larger die cut tools.
I can't  honestly say, I enjoyed making the tools. Cutting out the tools twice and cutting the handles of the card dies and gluing them onto the foil version isn't my idea of fun. Partly because I always get glue on the foil and glue is really not that easy to  remove from foil.

I used an S.U Woodgrain embossing folder for the doors, the bucket die was  from  a very old spellbinder beach set. One of those sets that came in a CD case.
The signage I found online,  I reduced the size of each sign  to around  1" to 1  1/2"  and printed them off and cut them out.

I printed off the pegboard background paper rather than trying to cut tiny holes all over a sheet of card.  There is a die for creating pegboard. But I didn't have the time to track it down and buy it, as this card was needed within 48 hours.
The wheel I used here was made using a Robert Addams  Mini car die. I cut a corner off a dried out baby wipe and wiped up a little grey ink with it to create the oily rag. The rag in the bucket is also a tiny piece of dried out baby wipe.

The great thing about this card is that it folds flat so it will fit in an 8x6 envelope when folded.
