outlined occassions

Another Card using  a set of the sale-a-bration stamp sets..
This  one is called outlined occassions. I really like this set. as you know I am not fond of colouring in as I have  difficulty staying with in the lines. My optician says it's an age thing.
Anyway back to this card I stamped the greeting  and  very carefully coloured in the lettering.
I  punched out a few pennant s and assembled the card.
A very simple but effective card.

As promised here is the lovely card sent to me by my upliner Amanda.

Amanda has used the Artistic Etchings stamp set to create this card with a touch of the Victoria lace and a few sticky back pearls .

Brightly Coloured Cotton Reels

I have to say this card required a lot masking and a lot of colouring. I have to be in the "mood" for lots of colouring and today I wasn't so my colouring is not brilliant in places. But all in all I enjoyed playing.

I used four or five cotton reel masks and just kept stamping until I had covered the entire piece of card.

Actually it does require a little bit of thought. I wanted the reels going in different directions. and different parts of each reel showing and overlapping in different places.

I started by stamping the Reels that appear to be on the top then masking them off and stamping the reels below. I then set about colouring them with my Stamp and write pens.

Once all the reels were coloured in, I filled in all the remaining white gaps in design with a black pen. This was when I found out my black pen had gone fluffy at the end making colouring in the small spaces very difficult.

I have to confess my colouring was so diabolical in places I had to stamp a couple more reels coloured them cut them out and stuck them on top of the bodged reels.

The words inside for this card will say "Sew Much" not very original but appropriate.

Creative Elements in Pumpkin pie

Here I have used the  new Creative Elements stamp set from S.U.  I used the flower with pumpkin pie ink and stamped the background.  Then  I stamped the very vanilla card stock  with the same stamp and ink then using a blender pen  dragged some of the ink from the outline to fill in the petals. I added some grosgrain and assembled the card.

Lou's Moving house card.

A lady I know is moving  house tomorrow,  so this evening I made this card for her and her family.
The stamp set I used  is a discontinued set called "good neighbours" from stampin' up.
I have had this stamp set for ages and not used until  recently. The foregound I daubed with old olive ink the sky with bashful blue ink.
I used Stampin' up's designer paper on the base of the card and stamped the top half of the card using one of the tree tops from the trendy trees stamp set.

Nancy's Steam Punk Day.

Nancy  (of Nancyz crafts) held a steam punk themed craft event yesterday in conjunction with the Bead Base.
I went along to have a go as I love the steam punk look.
Nancy demonstrated making the background paper using torn strips of paper taken from old books pasting them onto card and then painting over them with gesso.
Once the paint was dry we used sponge and ink to obtain the aged/distressed look.
I have only tried using gesso once and the result was a disaster. So it was great to try this and get a good result.
We then stamped over the  paint and added some embellishments.
Nancy had pre cut some flower shapes from an old dictionary, our task was to add the colour and assemble the flowers. I think we all made at least four in different colours.

I wasn't completely happy with the colour of my red flower, it was a bit wishy washy,  so when I got home I sprizted it with a stronger red pearly finish stuff that I can't remember the name of, I don't use  it often as I find it a bit too messy and the sprayer clogs up and I spend too much good crafting time in the bathroom washing out the tube and the nozzle  and then cleaning the sink.
But having said that, it  does come in the most beautiful rich colours that are irresistible, so sometimes it's worth the mess.
I also added  a bit more bling  and some gold embossing when I got home.

During our 15 minute lunch break I paid my first visit to the Bead Base, I have walked passed that place a few times and  never had any desire to go in. I guess I thought there would be nothing in there I wanted .

OMG!!! was I wrong,  I loved the charms and ended up buying a bag of them. The clock face used on the above tag is just one of the many they sell.
I then paid a visit to Nancy's shop and spent a bit more on bits and bobs before Hubby came and picked me up.
All in all  it was a thoroughly enjoyable day.
Thanks Nancy.

My Birthday Pressies

Tuesday was my birthday and what a lovely day it was.
The men of the house were at work leaving just Stan the dog and myself at home.

I spent most of the day in my craftroom creating a diamond wedding anniversary card for a friend.( I can't post photos yet
Amazingly,  I didn't have any feelings of guilt for not doing the housework, it was Great!  it's a shame  birthdays don't last a week  really,  then I could get away without doing housework all week. hee hee.
I had lots of phone calls in the morning and later in the day a couple of friends called in to wish me a happy birthday,  some  bearing  gifts, Stampin' up  goodies of course, hee hee.
Everyone was so generous. Thank you all for my pressies and for making my birthday a HAPPY one.
Hubby took me out for an Italian meal,  we arrived to find the restuarant was being refurbished so the italian was off.  After a great debate we ended up eating in a nearby hotel, not the meal I was looking forward to,  but a good 2nd best. Thanks Baby.

Napkins

Being the BBQ season I thought I would decorate some napkins.
Here are the results. The spotty one was created by punching a large and a small circle into scrap foiled card.

I applied the inks with a sponge dauber through the holes in the foil card.

I love the idea of having napkins to suit the event or the season.

Quick footnote here..... No,  the ink does not transfer to your face and hands ... under normal  use . Not sure if it would,  if it were to get soaked, but you wouldn't be wiping your face with it  if it were.

Baby card

For this I stamped an A4 sheet of card stock using the animal stories stamp set and the greeting stamp small wonder with pretty in pink ink, bashful blue ink and summer sun ink.
I then cut it down to 5 3/4" x 4" and stuck it to the front of my white base card . I stamped the giraffe in summer sun and mounted it onto pretty in pink card stock then mounted it again on bashful blue card stock. added a blue bow and small flat back pearls in the corners.
I will use the rest of my stamped sheet for other baby cards.
