Post it note cover & pen holder

This little post it note cover was made from
stampin up 's real red card stock , stamped with
the flourish stamp from the season of joy stamp set embossed with gold embossing powder.
I used the word stamp from season of joy for the top layer of the cover. Added a little real red grosgrain knot, some green comic glitter to the flowers , tree and snowflake.
For the inside, I used the same flourish stamp, but I used the real red inkpad to stamp around my label. I used the, " to: from:" stamp from the winter post stamp set and stamped it in basic grey. I very rarely use black ink to stamp anything. I find it too harsh and the result reminds me of a children's colouring book. I personally think you get a far better result using a grey ink, especially if you are going to colour in the images you have stamped. The short, Sharpies pens fit beautifully into the holder.
I think this would be a perfect little gift for a childs teacher as most of the teachers I know get through mountains of post it notes every year. So I think this would be a welcome gift that doesn't cost the earth.
Your child can fill in the " To and From" so the teacher will not forget who gave it to them.

Baby Card

I had every intention of filling my blog with loads of new things for you all during the summer holidays, But life has a away of messing up the best of plans. I ended up re decorating my hall , stairs and landing and the kitchen and not without problems. Before I knew it the holiday was over and I had to go back to work.

I didn't get much chance to make anything over the holiday and those cards I did make were sent as soon as they were finished.

I am not sure that I am supposed to post this card yet as I have used part of one of the wheel stamps that is featured in the new catalogue being launched on the 1st of October.

I used the Nursery Letters wheel for the blue background. I randomly stamped the lemon background with with small flower from the christmas stamp set season of joy using versamark ink as I didn't want a bold background. The baby tees wheel and copic markers to colour in the clothes.

Cheers to you Trinity

During my visit to the Newbury show this year I discovered Hot foiling using an extra hot laminator, a laser printer and toner foil. This got me really excited but I didn't have a laser printer. After days of research I bought a laser printer, just a cheap one and some toner foil and thought I would have a go with my laminator before buying the laminator I saw at the show. Much to my surprise and delight it worked.
You can guess how chuffed I was at not having to pay out £140.00 for a laminator. I have read that a domestic iron works for this technique. I haven't tried this, but I have the feeling it may buckle the paper. maybe I will try it next time I do the ironing. I 'll let you know the results.
For this card I used Stampin up stamp set Cheers to you , pretty in pink and bashful blue ink with an aqua painter brush to colour in the glasses.
Anyway I do hope Trinity doesn't visit my blog before her birthday or she will see her card.

Touch of nature

The stamp sets I used for this card was Touch of nature and En Francais background stamp from stampin up.

Ink pads used were bravo burgundy and chocolate chip to daub the edges of the cream card and stamp the images. Using a blender pen I coloured the butterfly with pumpkin pie and lovely lilac.

The fruit was coloured with a blender pen and elegant eggplant.

I tied a knot in burgundy grosgrain ( one of the very few colours available from the only fabric shop in town) adhered with a glue dot.

peapod card

The Baroque motif stamped in green works well as the tendrils of the pea plant.
First I daubed the edges of white cardwith bashful blue ink bringing the ink quite a long way into the center but not all the way.
I inked up the baroque motif stamp with old olive ink and stamped it diagonally across the card.
I added a few small flowers and leaves and the punched out the peapod using the large oval punch twice and cut the inside edge to where I wanted it , daubed the edges with old olive ink and stuck on top of a darker green oval. I then punched a small circle daubed with blossom blush ink and just a touch of red for the cheeks, I drew on the face using the fine end of the stamp and write marker pens,
Then using a sticky foam pad adhered it to the top of the pod.
I then stamped my greeting, Then mounted the whole picture onto green card stock and again onto the plum card base.

Bridal cushion

I have spent this weekend making this little Ring cushion.
My first problem was how to turn my sewing machine on, it's been quite a while since I used it.
My second problem was,
I had forgotten exactly how to make the ribbon rose, my first attempt was a bit tight and looked more like a Clarkia than Rose. But as Lucy said on Friday " you 'll get there in the end " and I believe I did.
Now I just hope that this is ok For the Bride and Groom.
It's about 10" across excluding the lace edging and has a Ribbon Strap underneather for young Harry to slide his hands into so he does not have to scrunch up the lace edges.
