Fran's 40th Card

Now Stampin'Up are selling the Big shot in the UK it has opened up so many more avenues to explore using the dies and the embossing folders.

I used the Vintage vogue stamp for this card with soft suede card, ink and ribbon. and the pricking mat set to create this card. I loved the results I got using the pricking mat set, I could never get such a good result pricking free hand. This is a simple piece of equipment that gives great results and notice and it's not just for pricking straight lines. See how the curves have been pricked too. Click on the photo for a larger image.

I used my nestabilities dies to cut the shaped pieces of card and daubed the edged with soft suede ink.

This card is for Fran who is 40 today.

Happy Birthday Fran have a wonderful day, see you at the party. I might be a little bleary eyed and vacant looking after last night and all those Black Russians. hee hee. BUT I'LL BE THERE.

Inspired by Abby Sciuto's parasol

After a very long a harrowing week I needed to unwind last night, so it was off to my craft room for an hour before going to bed. My inspiration for this card came from watching NCIS. (It's probably the only programme hubby and I watch together.) Anyway the character Abby Sciuto is occassionally seen with the most gorgeous black lace parasol. I have no idea why I had that in mind when I disappeared into my craft room, but this is the card that came from that thought. I used SU designer series paper ( the neutral collect). Vintage vogue stamp set also from SU, A bamboo kebab stick, a Martha Stewarts punch, several cocktail sticks, a few beads. A black stamp and write marker to colour the sticks, and some wood glue. It was a bit fiddly to do and I messed it up in places by being too impatient and not letting the glue dry thoroughly in between stages, but for a trial run it's passable. This being a 3D card this is going to need quite a deep box, which I still have to make. I can think of two people that would love this, both of whom are celebrating birthdays next month. Crickey!!!!! that reminds me hubby has a birthday coming up and much sooner than that..... Better get cracking.

Sorry the quality of this photo is not as clear as I would like, but I think it's clear enough to show the detail.

I used stampin' ups vintage vogue for this one plus a greeting from the sincere salutations set.

Marina mist card stock for the base and marina mist ink pad for the large flower. The small flower was stamped using the baja breeze ink pad. The leafy flourish I used old olive ink pad.

White grosgrain and a diamante finish off this card.

A little bird told us

I used Stampin up wheel very vogue with perfect plum ink on the perfect plum card stock.
The green card is old olive I love the three in one bird punch. I daubed the edges with old olive ink and used the vintage vogue stamp set to stamp the corner flowers and birds wing. I printed the greeting on old olive card stock using the dark purple ink.
Then punched out the greeting using the word window punch from stampin up.
I used the boho floral punch for the flower and added a green sparkle.

Another bird card

I used versamark ink and the very vogue wheel for the background this time , again I used the three in one bird punch from stampin up. The vine stamp is from the Vintage vogue set of stamps from stampin up.
Just playing with colours here .
I wish I had got that vine stamp a little more in the bottom corner.
Next time I think I will use my stamp-a-ma-jig thingy. Now I know how to use it, it's brilliant I love it to pieces. I can stamp things straight and in the correct place now. .........just have to remember to use it. lol.
