I have called this a dvd case because it is the same size and type of case your dvd's come in.
But with one big difference, it doesn't have the molded section that houses the dvd.
You'll find 99% of dvd cases have a back cover that has been molded to hold the dvd in place, so your note pad will not lay flat.
This one however, does not have that molded panel, so it is perfect for this project. Please don't do as I did and rush out and buy two packs of cases only to find they are no good for this project.
I used the Vintage springtime doublesided paper/card from stampin' up,
Always artichoke and Very vanilla card stock.

Old olive ink,
Versamark ink, gold embossing powder and baroque motif stamp set from stampin' up for the flourishes. The flowers were stamped using versamark ink. I chose the large oval, the lace edge and one of the label punches from S.U. to decorate.....oh and of course a little Rich razzleberry ribbon.

I just had to add the pen and notebook.
Now hubby said just stick the note book down with doublesided tape....... well, makes perfect sense and that would be the easy Option.
But me being me had to do it differently, because I want my note pad holder to be used again and again without having to apply acres of new sticky tape each time the note book ran out.
So I placed a small cutting mat in between the thin outer cover of the case and the harder shell and cut a series of small slots through the shell, the cuts are just wide enough for the grossgrain to slide through. I taped the overlapping ends of the grosgrain together at the back quite tightly. Then repleated the process for the pen holder.
Now I can just slide a new note book under grosgrain band and it's ready to go again.
