Garden clock re vamp.

Apologies for my time out these past few of months. Things have been pretty chaotic here. Just one of the issues we've had to deal with has been a major roof leak, which has caused no end of damage in the house. To cut a very long story short, we've  had  to have a new roof and then wait for a few storms to check the new roof is water tight before the internal repairs can be done. It seems the new roof is watertight now,  but we are still waiting for the asbestos company to inform the plasterer of the work they have carried out before the plasterer can repair all the damage. We have four rooms that have been damaged and in need of  repair. One of the rooms  most badly affected was my craft room. Luckily the craft stuff, stored in that area was in plastic boxes, so I didn't lose any goodies. But the upheaval all this damage has caused has been demoralizing and I haven't had much time or energy for crafting.

This week I have tried  to get back into it, with little success.  So Hubby and I decided we ought to revamp  the garden clock as the face had buckled and the numerals had disappeared. This project was a joint effort. Hubby stripped  the clock down and re painted the casing. He also sorted out the mechanism inside this double sided clock.  I wish I had taken a before and after photo now, because this clock was in a dreadful condition.

While he did all that, I found a new  printable clock face on line. I  printed off two faces and adhered them to some cream card. I inked the edges to colour match it with the new faces, leaving a half inch border, as the faces were slightly too small for the casing.   Between us we have given this old clock a new lease of life, and for very little money. It looks pretty good too. Almost too good to put  back in the garden.
