Stippled Blossoms

Here we are again with my favourite go to stamp set.  I love this stippled blossom  two step, stamp set from stampin' up.

The flowers are achieved by stamping the solid image stamp in a pale colour ink.

Then you over stamp with the detail stamp inked up with a darker coloured ink and that's all there is to it, but it gives stunning results.

You can get very different results  just by changing the colours .

In Memory of Holsten

This is a tiny Memory Book I made In Memory of Holsten.

Holsten belonged to Dawn our niece. Holsten died just before Christmas He had been a family member for 15 years plus and naturally Dawn was devastated.
I thought perhaps a little therapy would help her grieving.
So I made this little book for her to fill in some of her memories of Holsten before they fade.
Dawn is not a card maker or scrapbooker so this was made so all she has to do is write her memories in the book. Here are a few pages from the book.
The Cover was made from grey card and covered with mottled green card, which I then over stamped.
used the computer to make the journalling pages.
I used the stamp set Everything Eleanor to decorate this book.
I also used the Stampin'up alphabet dies for the lettering
This little booklet contains poems about losing a dog I included Kipling's poem "The Power Of A Dog."The book sits neatly in the little pocket made for it.

On another page I added a tiny organza bag for either his baby teeth, some of his hair or his dog tag.

Some of the pages where decorated with the P is for paws wheel stamp, but it this doesn't show up very well in these photos.

found this poem that fitted the situation perfectly

The Last Battle.
If it should be that I grow frail and weak

And pain should keep me from my sleep,

Then will you do what must be done,

For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.

You will be sad I understand,

But don't let grief then stay your hand,

For on this day, more than the rest,

Your love and friendship must stand the test.

We have had so many happy years

You wouldn't want me to suffer so.

When the time comes, please, let me go.

Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,

Only, stay with me till the end

And hold me firm and speak to me

Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time you will agree It is a kindness you do to me.

Although my tail its last has waved,

From pain and suffering I have been saved.

Don't grieve that it must be you Who has to decide this thing to do;

We've been so close -- we two -- these years,

Don't let your heart hold any tears.
