Holiday Tapestry

I have had my eye on this stamp by Gina K designs for a long time. But there is only one place in the UK that sells Gina K products.  As you can imagine, as soon as the stock comes in it's sold out. So I have had a long wait before getting this one.
I guess I could have ordered it from the U.S but I got stung before. I bought a set of stamps costing £20 and ended up being charged another £20 by the post office for taxes.... Lesson learnt.
My first card with this stamp is a tall thin card (DL) . I stamped the images with Versamark and heat embossed in white.  Mounted the images on white card and then on to a coloured base card. In this case the colour I chose was Pacific Point.  I think this is a pretty straight forward card to make and a pretty design but a little flat looking. So on my second card I thought I'd add a little depth by brushing a slightly darker blue  ink over the edges of the panel and overlapping the embossing.
Once I felt I had enough depth I gave the white embossing a good rub to remove the ink from the surface.
Unfortunately  the ink has stained the embossing in places, but not so bad that the panel is unusable.
.
For my third card, I changed the shape. This time I went for a 7 x 5 inch card.

To avoid staining the embossing, I brushed the ink on the card panel before embossing. By inking the card first does mean you have to wait for the card to completely dry, and use an embossing buddy before you attempt to heat emboss, or you'll find the embossing powder sticks to the whole area rather than the design. I certainly think the inking adds a little richness to these cards. I hope you agree.

Time to try more colours and techniques with this stamp.
