This mornings little experiment was to combine something old with something new.
I chose to use the Hero Art leafy vine stamp I bought recently as the vintage background and decoration on the now retired Perfect Blend coffee cup stamp as the modern element to this card.
The technique I have used is called Versamark resist.
The clear ink resists the ink you apply over the top with the brayer.
The ink looks a bit patchy in this photo, this due to the lighting. it's not patchy in reality.
I stamped the vine stamp on to glossy card stock using Versamark ink pad and allowed it to dry a few minutes.
Taking a brayer and Pear Pizzazz ink pad I began to apply the ink over the stamped image. Once I had covered most of the card I added a light layer of Old Olive ink as I didn't think the colour was intense enough for my liking.
Turning the card round, I used the brayer again to apply a little Soft Suede ink to the bottom edge of the glossy card stock. Once I was happy with the intensity of the colour, I left it dry off for a few mins then buffed the card stock to bring back the gloss of the card and to remove excess ink from the design.
I repeated the process on a small piece of glossy card. Then I masked off part of the card with post it notes and stamped the coffee cup over the top in black memento ink and allowed the ink to dry. This ink takes a little longer to dry on glossy card stock so I had to be patient.
So while the ink was drying I inked up a strip of card stock in green for the sentiment.
The cut out the cup and assembled all the elements.
