So last week I bought some Easymount and have begun to peel some of my rubber stamps off the wood blocks ( the ones I would have trouble getting an even print with) and stick them onto the static clingEasymount….This stuff is pretty expensive and if you ask me it's over priced. I found it was cheaper to order it and have it shipped here from the USA than it was to buy it direct from the Crafters Companion here in the UK. How stupid is that?
The first stamp I peeled from the block was this retire paisley background stamp. I have to confess I tore the foam backing as I peeled it from the block. So I had to be really careful peeling the rest of the foam off.
Fortunately I managed to get it off without doing too much more damage to the foam. I added the Easymount over the foam and that has not only concealed the tear it is also holding the foam together.
There is a very sticky residue left on the wooden block after peeling off the rubber so after mounting the stamp onto the Easymount I used the peel off paper to cover the adhesive left on the block to stop it collecting dust and fibres.
It was then time to test the stamp out on the Stamparatus.
As you can see in the image above, it's not a perfect image it's a little pale too. But hey, ... I have the Stamparatus and this thing has saved dozens of pieces of card stock from the bin in very short the short time I have owned it. All I had to do was ink up the stamp and stamp it again over the first image.
In the next photo you can see the missed areas have been filled in and the colour is more intense too.
I am so glad I changed my mind about buying this tool... it's brilliant!!
The one thing everyone warns you about with the stamparatus is NOT to let the very strong magnets click together as they will break.
So I have been ultra careful with my magnets, that is, until a couple of days ago.............Now I have twice as many magnets as I did....Ooops.
