Pansy Petals

I held off from buying the Pansy Petals stamps and dies until I had seen what other demo's were doing with them.  I wanted to watch a few videos on using this bundle before purchasing it.  For two reasons, the first being  to see if other people were getting good results and the second to get an idea if I would have the patience to work with them, as there are an awful lot of parts to these flowers.
I've watched a few videos, and the way people are working with them is so varied, and the results are so very different. Which left me very confused , so I decided to do my own thing with them.

So last weekend I spent a lot of time experimenting with  lots of different colour combinations, and using all of the dies, to using just three of them.  I have to say, I haven't liked most of my creations, but I persevered until I had two pansies I would be happy to put on a card. If you are contemplating buying these dies, be prepared to spend a good deal of time experimenting,  and keep playing until you get something you're pleased with. you will get there in the end but they do require some experimenting.

There are six dies that make up this large Pansy, but there are eight pieces to each flower...ten if you include the leaves.  I have only used six of the eight pieces on these cards.
I used a bone folder to curl the petals to give them dimension to make them a little more realistic.

I blended a tiny amount of yellow / purple ink onto white card for the backgrounds.

The  flowers were attached with dimensionals.  I added the bud and the leaves before stamping the sentiment on the backgrounds.

Both of your Pansy cards are stunning! I really like this bundle, but I am still undecided about purchasing it. Do you have a PDF tutorial or video for your Pansy cards?

Hi Kathy,
I have only just seen this comment you left. I am so sorry I missed it. I guess by now you have made up your mind about buying the Pansy bundle. I was undecided about this set too. As I recall, when it arrived I played with it for a while and didn't get the results I expected, feeling disappointed I gave up on it. Sometime later I tried again, and again until I got a result I was happy with, perseverance is the name of the game with this set. As pretty as this set is, it took a lot of practise and patience to get something I was happy with. It's not a set I would recommend to beginners.I have to say I haven't used it since.
Did you buy the set in the end? how did you get on with it? Again I apologise for not responding earlier.

Well - I bought the set and spent a good day working with it. I cut the flower petals out of vellum, and WOW. They really looked great, and took the blender pen wonderfully. They rolled automatically and the three D effect was stunning. This isn't my card, because I used white vellum, with purple accents - but this is a similar idea: https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/663718063844834894/

And Patty Bennett did a Friday You Tube about working with all of the pieces. I found it very helpful.
Hope you are both having a wonderful day - and that you do try it again - it is the flower of Friendship after all. RP
