handmade scrapbook

Gosh! it's been a long time since I made this scrapbook. It was made for a retiring member of staff. But the pandemic happened and she didn't get her leaving do or this scrapbook. I couldn't post any photos here until she had received it.
As you look at these two photos you may notice one of the navy lacey corners is missing. I did stick it on before gifting the book.

I made the book cover from card, stripy wallpaper, sticky back velvet (on the hinge side) and a whole host of stamped die cuts from the forever green suite by S.U. The lace edge is a lace edge die from Joanna Sheene.
I can't show you much of the inside of the book so I'll just show you the bits I can.

This double page spread was one  of the two envelope pages. Each envelope  had an embossed flap and each  contained a matching  embossed card, in which most members of staff wrote a personal message the retiring member.

Other pages included photos of  various school events. Like Kite day and learning to ride a bike
I kept the pages simple, letting the backing paper do the work on most pages. Unlike some of my previous heavily embellished scrapbooks .

There was a pocket page that contained an A4 booklet  with lots of  photographic memories in.

On the cover of this booklet I only decorated the half of the book that didn't get covered  by the pocket. For fear of any embellishments getting caught on the edge of the pocket and being ripped off

In this photo you can see the embossing on each of the envelopes.
